IES ANTONI MARTÍ I FRANQUÈS. FIRST PRIZE.

The project consists of a series of operations intended to spruce up a building severely deteriorated by years of inadequate maintenance, with an architecture based on symmetry and a very elongated shape, with a difficult-to-understand side entrance that the proposed external urbanization attempts to resolve.

The work involved solar shading the facades and constructing the ground floor and a model floor plan, which was intended to serve as an example for the remaining floors.

Thus, the work carried out on the façade consisted of replacing the windows, placing them on the exterior plane, and lining the gap with wood, warming the light entering the classrooms and maximizing the use of this small space.

The classroom corridor was designed so that the walls did not touch the ceiling, allowing for illumination due to its great length. the entrances and walls of the classrooms were set back, creating spaces for benches, allowing them to be used as a social space.

Sun protection for facades is achieved through slats, divided according to the window’s layout, which move closer and further away depending on the solar incidence of its orientation (front or rear facade).
